Why I built Callsheet

I’m Caden, a model in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve been working as a creative for almost three years now and more than twenty test shoots. I actually started out as an actor: I took classes for about a year, signed with my first agency, and from there I pivoted into modeling.

Test shoots have always been a little hectic for me. The location, the date and time, who was even on the team, it tended to be scattered, and I’d often show up without a real sense of the shoot I was walking into. Worse, I’ve been on sets where someone made me or other people on the team uncomfortable, sometimes genuinely worried for our safety. Avoiding that has stuck with me ever since.

The idea hit me one night as I was heading to bed, completely out of nowhere. It came from a place of necessity more than anything, just, hey, build this. So I did.

Callsheet is shaped by the creatives I’ve worked with and learned from. Every test shoot I’ve been part of taught me something, and I’m grateful for all of it. A handful of people also took the time to share honest feedback about their own experiences, the no-shows, the unclear expectations, work reposted without credit, the struggle to even find the right people, and that’s built into what Callsheet is.

Callsheet is completely free to use. The Pro plan is only there for people who want more detailed tools, or who simply want to support the platform. Mostly, I’m just glad to have built something for a problem that’s been persistent in this industry for a long time, and I hope it becomes a genuinely useful part of how you work and who you connect with.
